Jane Ball, 90, a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community since 2002, died there Wednesday, April 12, 2006.
She was born in Covode, Indiana County, March 18, 1916, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Libbie Warnshuis Neff.
She was a graduate of Meadville High School and the former Meadville City Hospital School of Nursing and had been employed there for a brief period, then worked in the office of Doctors Deissler and Marshall for 13 years, and retired from Avtex as an industrial nurse in 1981.
She was a member of Stone United Methodist Church, a member of the former Cambridge Springs Chapter #114, Order of Eastern Star, now Golden Crown Chapter #44 of Meadville, and a member of the City Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association.
Jane is survived by one son, Ronald W. Ball of Meadville; 7 grandchildren, Ronald Ball, Barbara Evans, Amanda Obermeier, Russell Ball, Dorothy Schaub, Rachael Ball and Hilary Ball; a daughter in law, Nancy Ball and 6 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son Robert L. Ball, a daughter in law, Janet Ball, and 3 brothers.
Calling hours will be Friday from 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with an Eastern Star Service at 6:45 p.m.
The funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Aaron Kerr, Pastor of Stone United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in Greendale cemetery.
