Jane C. (Blair) Wallin

Jane C. Wallin, 91, of Conneaut Lake, died Monday, May 2, 2016 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born November 11, 1924 in Mayville, NY, the only child of David R. and Nora Fowkes Blair.  The family moved to Titusville in 1936 and Jane graduated from Colestock High School in 1942.

She worked as a secretary at Struthers Well Corporation and she married Lloyd E. Wallin on December 20, 1943 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Titusville.  Lloyd preceded her in death June 22, 1999.

Following Lloyd’s discharge from the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1946, the family moved to Conneaut Lake.  She was a homemaker and bookkeeper at her son’s business, Wallin’s Golden Dawn in Jamestown.

Jane was of the Protestant faith.  She was a charter member of the Conneaut Lake Area Historical Society, was an active leader with the Boy and Girl Scouts when her children were growing up, and enjoyed reading, history, her computer, and breakfast out with her friends every morning.

Survivors include two daughters, Lynn C. Thurber of Adamsville and Rae Ann Simonetta and her husband Mark of Meadville; seven grandchildren including Troy Messerall and his wife Abbie of Meadville and Eric Messerall of Pittsburgh, several great-grandchildren; and also great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son Garry D. Wallin; a grandson, Bryan Wallin; and a son-in-law, Wayne Thurber.

A private family graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery, Conneaut Lake.

Visitation will be Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, 12422 Conneaut Lake Rd., Conneaut Lake where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.
