Janet E. Smith

Janet E. Smith, 85, of Guys Mills, passed away Monday, December 7, 2020 at the Crawford County Care Center.

She was born December 17, 1934 in Erie, a daughter of Walter and Evelyn Richardson Virtue.  She married Earl W. Smith February 1, 1966 and he preceded her in death October 28, 2009.

Janet was a 1952 graduate of Saegertown High School.  A homemaker, she had also worked at Bell Telephone Company in Meadville.

Janet was a member of the Meadville Alliance Church and enjoyed quilting, reading and bird watching.

Survivors include two daughters, Maryjane Smith of Cottonwood, AZ and Barbara Barker (Jesse) of Meadville; two granddaughters, Hanna Jordan of Tacoma, WA and Jillian Barker of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David B. Smith and a brother, James Virtue.

Due to the present Covid-19 pandemic, private burial will be in Blooming Valley Cemetery with a public memorial service at a later date.
