Janet (Jan) Frances Collar, 82 of Cochranton was called home into Glory on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born, November 21, 1940 in Eighty-Four, PA she was the daughter of the late Jesse Orville and Helen Annetta Barney.
Jan graduated from Bentlyville High School, got married, traveled the country before landing in Cochranton. She lived a full life, with many different vocations including going to school to become a certified Massage Therapist and Reflexologist. She had a big heart to help people. Jan loved the Lord and was active in her local church and helped with the weekly bible study at Adam’s Place. Her hobbies included quilting, sewing, gardening, and thrifting.
She is survived by her children: Terri Baker of Carlton and Mike Ames of Greensboro, NC. Grandchildren: Anika, Adisen, and Amelia Ames, and Jessica (Corey) Heiss. Great-grandchildren: Jadyn, Jordan, Joshua and Jenna Heiss. Siblings: Raymond Barney of Canonsburg, PA and Kenneth Barney of Eighty-Four, PA along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Wanda L. Smith, two brothers Albert Barney and DonardBarney, two preborn children, a son-in-law Randy Baker, a grandson Ben Baker, and a great granddaughter Julie Heiss.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. of Sandy Lake and Stoneboro.
A Memorial Service will be held on a future date.
