Jean E. Cocolin

Jean E. Cocolin, 88, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at Meadville Medical Center. She was born May 24, 1929 in Indiana, PA, a daughter of Court and Florence Clawson Kitchen. She married Art Cocolin June 18, 1947 and he preceded her in death July 22, 2016. Jean was a 1947 graduate of Green Township High School. She was co-owner and operator with her husband of Arts Restaurant and KFC Restaurants throughout the years. A member of First Baptist Church, Jean was also a member of the Kiwanis Club of Meadville and the Golden K Kiwanis Club of Meadville. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing cards in various card clubs. Survivors include three children, David Cocolin and his wife Sarah of Tulsa, OK, Cyndie Rowles and her husband Tom of Meadville, and Gary Cocolin and his wife Lynn of Conneautville; six grandchildren, Jennifer Zonneveld and her husband Paul of Phoenix, AZ, Kevin Rowles and his wife Alescia of Cleveland, OH, Cezanne Breanis and her husband Chris of Annapolis, MD, Nick Cocolin and his wife Jennifer of Erie, Nate Cocolin and his wife Katie of Cullowhee, NC, and Ryan Cocolin and his wife Jessica of Washington, DC; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Kathleen Sinemus of Derry, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Court Kitchen, Jr. and two sisters, Dorothy Miller and Lucille Gondal. Calling hours will be Friday, October 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE and Saturday, October 14th from 10 to 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 353 Chestnut St., Meadville. The funeral service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the church with the Rev. Gerald Walton, Pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
