Jean Joanne Ridgway

Jean Joanne Ridgway, 87, of Saegertown, died Sunday, August 04, 2013 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born November 10, 1925 in Corry, PA a daughter of Victor and Dorothy Verfuth Johnson.  She married Howard H. Ridgway April 9, 1955 and he survives.

She was a 1943 graduate of Saegertown High School and retired from Avtex as a Beaming Operator after 40 years of service.  She was a member of Hamlin Chapel United Methodist Church, Saegertown.

Survivors, in addition to her husband Howard of 58 years, include: a niece, Heidi Ciborek and her husband Charles of Monroe Falls, OH; two nephews, Kurt Johnson and his wife Suzanne of Bakersfield, CA and Joseph Monroe of Lemon Grove, CA and a sister-in-law, Ruth Monroe of Lemon Grove, CA.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Johnson and Herbert Johnson.

Calling hour will be Tuesday from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. with Rev. David Chin, Pastor of Hamlin Chapel United Methodist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Lottsville Cemetery, Lottsville, PA.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hamlin Chapel United Methodist Church, 16352 State Hwy 198, Saegertown, PA 16433 or the Hayfield Central Hose Co., 15417 State Hwy 198, Meadville, PA 16335.
