Jean L. Randall

Jean L. Randall, 89, of Meadville, died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center.

She was born in Meadville June 13, 1920 a daughter of William A. and Nellie C. Cunningham Smith.  She had been married to Fred Randall and then enjoyed spending 33 years together with her loving companion Jack G. Burchard who died December 4, 2003.

She retired in 1985 after 45 years of service from Alltel, where she worked as a dispatcher in the test center, as a secretary and in the engineering department.  She was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ.  She was a 1937 graduate of Meadville High School and she enjoyed outdoor activities, flowers, yard work and exercising.

Survivors, include: a brother, Richard D. Smith and his wife Dona of McAllen, TX and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and companion, she was preceded in death by a sister, Edythe Smith and her twin brother, William C. Smith.

Calling hour will be Sunday from 3-4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The memorial service will follow at 4 p.m. with the Rev. Martin Hardy, Pastor of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, officiating.

Interment will be in Kiser Hill Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of donor's choice.
