Jean Rae (Staab) Marsh

Jean Rae (Staab) Marsh passed away peacefully on December 9, 2018.  Jean led a full and happy life and was 90 years old when she passed.

She was born at the former Meadville Spencer Hospital to Robert and Gwenith Staab.  She was a graduate of St. Agatha’s High School in 1945 and then married Earl Marsh of Linesville, PA on June 28, 1947.

She was an avid golfer and was one of the first women to have a hole-in-one at the Meadville Country Club.  Jean worked for over 20 years at the Meadville Public Library as bookkeeper.  In 1993 and after her retirement Jean and Earl moved to Homosassa Springs, Florida where she lived until 2000.  She then moved to Palm Beach Gardens to live near her family.

To celebrate her life a funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. Peter Catholic Church, 1701 Indian Creek Parkway Jupiter, FL.  In addition to the Florida funeral mass, visitation will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 10-11 a.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE.  A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Andrew Boyd officiating.

Interment will be in St. Agatha Cemetery.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband Earl and her brother, Robert W. Staab of Meadville.

Jean is survived by her five children, Linda (Robert) Jannot of Spindale, NC; Karen (Paul) Tagliaferri of Aurora IL; Douglas (Patricia) Marsh of Meadville; Eric Marsh and Sheri Polley, of Conneaut Lake; and Gregory (Kristin) Marsh of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jason Jannot, Nicole (Jannot) Estes, Lisa (Tagliaferri) Kauk, Keith Tagliaferri, Jenna (Marsh) DiNatale, William Marsh, and Caitlin Marsh.  Jean is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Ellie and Ryan Estes, Ava Frampton, Ashton and Anderson Kauk, Quintin and Carina Tagliaferri, and Blaise James DiNatale, Jr.

In lieu of flowers, it is suggested that donations be made in remembrance of her to the Meadville Public Library, 848 N Main Street Meadville, PA 16335.
