Jean Price Martin

Jean Price Martin, 85, of Saegertown, died Monday, November 3, 2014 at Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community.

She was born March 4, 1929 in Jefferson, Ohio, a daughter of Richard and Anna May Wiser Price.  She married Donald S. Martin September 15, 1950 and he preceded her in death April 4, 2011.

Jean was a 1947 graduate of Meadville High School.  She worked at the American Viscose in her earlier years and subsequently was a homemaker.  She later drove school bus for Clair Ferry Transportation.

A member of Saegertown United Methodist Church, Jean was also a member of the Saegertown Women’s Improvement Club and enjoyed traveling, camping and spending winters in Florida for many years.  She loved her dog Corky.

Survivors include four children, James Martin and his wife Ronda of Lincolnton, NC, David L. Martin and his wife Kim of Saegertown, Paul S. Martin and his companion Linda Greene of Meadville, and Donna J. Kozubal and her husband Tom of Meadville; three brothers, Henry Price and his wife Nancy of Meadville, Lawrence Price and his wife Lois of Meadville, and Russell Price and his companion Flo of Buffalo, NY; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Price.

Calling hours will be Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

The funeral service will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Darrell L. Greenawalt, Pastor of Saegertown United Methodist Church and the Rev. Philip Torre, Assistant Chaplain at Wesbury United Methodist Community, co-officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
