Jeanette C. Hunt

Jeanette C. Hunt, 94, of Meadville, passed away Friday, April 8, 2022 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.

She was born May 11, 1927 in Westfield, PA, a daughter of LeRoy Edgar and Edna Georgine Hardwidge Householder.  She married Wallace B. Hunt September 28, 1946 and he preceded her in death October 2, 1982.

Jeanette worked at Talon, J.C. Penney’s, starting the catalog department, S & H Green Stamps, and retired from Montgomery Ward’s.

A member of Wayland Baptist Church, she was also a member of the Kon Yaucht Kickers Square Dance Club.  Jeanette was an avid card player belonging to various card clubs and loved bowling and traveling, taking bus trips and cruises.

Survivors include a daughter, Elaine Hoke of Meadville; a sister, Shirley Stevenson of Meadville; five grandchildren, Brian Myers (Donna Riley) of Venango, Shawn Hoke (Rayna) of Shippenville, Jason Hoke (Jen) of Meadville, Andrew Hoke of Meadville, and Darcy Hoke of Meadville; eleven great-grandchildren, Bummer Riley, Heather Beech, Stephanie Walters, and Kaylee, Gabe, Collin, Ian, Mason, Madalyn, Natalie, and Lainey Hoke; eight great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son-law, Robert Peter Hoke; a granddaughter, Lisa Marie Hoke; three brothers, Charles Lake, Edgar Householder, and Evron Householder; three sisters, Katherine Smiles, Edna Kebert, and Isabelle Hunter; and her companion of many years, Bill Pearson.

Calling hours will be Wednesday, April 13th from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the ROBERT W. WAID FUNERAL HOME, 581 CHESTNUT ST., MEADVILLE where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with the Rev. Rusty Dodds, Pastor of Wayland Baptist Church, officiating.

Interment will be in Greendale Cemetery.
