Jeanne Marie Knox, 75, of Meadville, died Wednesday, March 11, 1998 at Hamot Medical Center following a week long illness.
She was born in Erie, January 6, 1923, a daughter of the late Frederick E. and Leona T. Dushole Bowen. She married Goerge D. Knox June 14, 1941 and he preceded her in death August 8, 1997.
She was a wife and mother and had worked for several years in the Neason Hill and East End Elementary School's cafeteria. She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church of the Redeemer, a graduate of the 1940 class of Meadville High School and was active as a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Survivors include two daughters, Judy L. Laird (George) and Cheryl I. Knox of Meadville; two sons, Richard B. Knox of Meadville and Gary A. Knox (Pam) of Guys Mills; five grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Galon Bowen.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
