Jeannette E. Peterson

Jeannette E. Peterson, age 83, formerly of Meadville passed away Friday, January 31, 2025, at her home in El Paso, TX.

She was born on March 13, 1941, a daughter of Leslie L. Kiesel and Edythe R. Bartells.

As a Christian, Jeannette lived and shared her faith in God as well as being a faithful prayer warrior. Most recently she attended Cielo Vista Church in El Paso, TX, as well as being involved in a Community Group within the church.

Jeannette was a 1958 graduate of Cambridge Springs High School. She worked as a nurse’s aide at the former Mead Nursing Home, she subsequently went on to foster many children through the Meadville CYS office for 14 years. Jeannette worked for Support Inc. of Meadville from 2004 until her retirement in 2020. The last two years she helped as a loving caregiver to her son-in-law in his decline with Alzheimer’s.

In her later years, she loved flower gardening. She belonged to the Meadville Eat and Travel Club for 15 years. She was a strong advocate for animals and fostered cats and dogs for many years as well as enjoying feeding and watching backyard birds. She collected dolls and was a member of the Meadville Doll Club. Jeannette was a lifelong avid reader who enjoyed life through her many travels as well. Most of all she enjoyed time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughters Lisa (Fletcher) Clark of Erie and Erin Faber (Kris) of El Paso, TX, four grandchildren Guy Faber, El Paso, Silas Faber, El Paso, Darcie Luikart of Youngstown Ohio, Justin Fletcher of West Jordan, Utah, a great granddaughter Lillienne, of Youngstown, Ohio. Sister, Elizabeth Geist, Xenia, Ohio.

In addition to her parents, Jeannette was predeceased in death by a daughter Tracy (Fletcher) Albritton, a brother Richard Kiesel, an infant brother Stanley, a sister Janet, and a son-in-law, Thomas Clark.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025 at 2:00 PM in ROSE AND WAID FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, INC., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with Rev. Jerry Walton, officiating. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday February 15, 2025, from 12:00 PM until the time of service.

The burial will be in Greendale Cemetery.
