Jeffrey Alan Stallard, 62, of Meadville died unexpectedly Friday, November 27, 2020 in Elmora, PA.
He was born October 16, 1958 in Meadville a son of Delmar C. and Marilyn L. Oakes Stallard. He was a 1976 graduate of Saegertown High School and received an appointment to the U.S. Air Force Academy but decided to attend Penn State Behrend University where he was studying engineering. He then enlisted in the US Air Force serving from 1978-1988 as a military policeman stationed in the Azores, New Mexico, Montana and Alaska. Following his return to Meadville he worked at Wilson Lumber and currently at the Meadville Ace Contractor Center. Jeff loved his job working with the area construction companies. The contractors were more than just customers to him; they were all his great friends.
During his high school years, he played golf and volleyball and was a drummer in the school band. He and four of his friends formed a band that played at several places in the area during his high school days. He continued his drumming in the Air Force, playing in Air Force bands at the various bases where he was stationed. Once he returned to Meadville, he also enjoyed playing softball for many years. While in the Air Force, he was also selected to participate in its Volant Rodeo. This was an annual competition held by the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command using units from across the Air Force and allied countries to improve tactics and procedures in a competitive environment.
Survivors, include his fiancée, Kimberly R. Lane of Elmora, PA; his son, David A. Stallard (Carrye) of Saegertown; his mother, Marilyn L. Stallard of Saegertown; his sister, Lynann M. Chang (Dudley) of Saegertown; a grandson, Maccabee Stallard; a niece, Maile Chang; a nephew, Mark Chang (Emily) and a great niece, Lauryn Chang.
He was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Stallard; a brother, Mark Stallard and his grandparents.
Calling hours will be Wednesday, December 2nd from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 890 Liberty Street, Meadville. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Brian K. Jensen, Pastor, officiating. The wearing of masks and CDC guidelines will be followed.
Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery with military honors provided by Huidekoper VFW Post #2006.
