Jennie Johnson Benson

Mrs. Jennie Johnson Benson, 91, of Meadville, widow of Charles A. Benson, died Tuesday, January 19, 1960, at her home following a month's illness.

She was born August 14, 1868, at Almhult, Sweden, a daughter of John and Marie Magnusson Johnson and had lived in Meadville the past 12 years.  She was married on October 21, 1891.

Mrs. Benson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and of the missionary society and ladies aid society of the church.

Surviving are two sons, Carl E. of Meadville and J. Arthur of Grove City; two brothers, Charles J. Johnson of Hibbing, MN and Victor of Almult; eight grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.  A third son, Joseph A. of Meadville, died in 1932.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Brockport Cemetery, Elk County.
