Jerry E. Wyant

June 18, 1923 — September 20, 2004

Jerry E. Wyant, 81, formerly of 991 Charlton St., and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community, died Monday Sept. 20, 2004, at Meadville Medical Center after a period of failing health.

He was born in Meadville June 18, 1923, a son of John M. & Olive Blauser Wyant.

He was a 1941 graduate of Cochranton High School, and was a veteran of World War II serving with the U. S. Army Air corps in the Pacific Theatre of operations.

He was a 1950 graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with an Associates Degree in Photography, and was employed by Penn Art of Pittsburgh, for 29 years, retiring in 1982.  For the next 10 years he worked part-time in the Meadville office of the Department of Public Welfare.

He was a life member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ having served on various boards and committees, and had been a member of the church choir.

He was a member and past president of Photographers in Industry of Pittsburgh, a volunteer and past president of the Meadville Soup Kitchen, and he enjoyed working in digital photography, and gardening.

He is survived by twin sisters, Jean & Jane Wyant of Meadville and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 1 sister, Virginia Headrick, and 2 brothers, Martin and John Wyant.

Following cremation, a memorial service will be held Sunday, September 26th at 2:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 1070 Park Avenue, Meadville with Rev. Steve Aschmann, Pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in Cochranton Cemetery, Cochranton, PA
