Jerry Joseph Heme

October 16, 1929 — October 30, 2005

Jerry Joseph Heme, 76, of 16479 Woodcock Lane, Saegertown, died Sunday, October 30, 2005, at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born in Meadville, Oct. 16, 1929, a son of the late Stephen and Inez Britton Heme.  He married Brenda Marie Stevens November 18, 1967, and she survives.

He was a 1947 graduate of Randolph High School, Guys Mills, and was a dairy farmer in Guys Mills from 1951 to 1976.  He then worked for Meadville Redi-Mix as a truck driver, retiring in 1997.

He worked hard all his life, and enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was affiliated with St. Hippolytes Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown.

Survivors in addition to his wife of 37 years include, a daughter, Anne M. Motter and her husband Chris of Edinboro; a son, Joseph P. Heme and his wife Tammy of Waterford; 4 grandchildren, Jordan and Bradley Motter, and Steven and Breanna Heme; 3 step-grandchildren, Arica, Bethany, and Raymond Adam Moritz; 1 step-great grandson, Michael Moritz; 2 brothers, Paul R. (Dick) Heme and his wife Carol Dao of San Luis Obispo, CA, and Thomas R. Heme and his wife Margot (Peg) of Guys Mills; his mother in-law, Virginia Stevens of Saegertown, and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Bradley Lee Heme, and his father-in-law, Lyle B. Stevens.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hippolytes Roman Catholic Church, Frenchtown, with Fr. B. LaMont Sayers, as celebrant.

Burial will be in St. Hippolytes Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
