Jessie A. Dykins, 73, of Franklin, died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at The Caring Place, Franklin.

She was born March 6, 1938 in Oil City, a daughter of the late Ernest Arthur and Arvilla Beatrice Proper Porath.

A 1956 graduate of Oil City High School, Jessie was a homemaker and had worked as a secretary for Oil City Glass Company and Veaches Furniture Store, Oil City.

She was a member of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Franklin.  She enjoyed summer family picnics and especially loved her grandchildren.

Survivors include 6 children, Scott Dykins of Oil City, Diana O'Neil and her husband Douglas of Seneca, Mark Dykins of Oil City, Gayle Merola and her husband Mike of Stoughton, MA, Ernest Dykins and his wife Anita of Kennerdell, and Angela Myatt and her husband Richard of Saegertown; 11 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Flinchbaugh and her husband Emil of Oil City; a brother, William Porath of Oil City; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Courtney Hale; a sister, Rosalie Henry; and a brother, Ronald Porath.

Family calling hours will be Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where a family funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jonathon Bell, Pastor of the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Franklin, officiating.

Interment will be in Sunville Cemetery, Venango County.
