Jessie B. Cousins

Jessie B. Cousins, 93, of Blooming Valley, died Tuesday, December 5, 1978, at Spencer Hospital after an extended illness.

She was born in Tarentum, Allegheny County, November 24, 1885, a daughter of Anton and Dorothea Langhorst Beck.  She married the Rev. Dr. Joseph A. Cousins, January 4, 1905.  He died August 11, 1970.

She assisted her husband in various United Methodist churches for 58 years, including Grace United Methodist Church at Meadville and churches at State Road and Pine Grove.  She was a member of Blooming Valley United Methodist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lawrence (Jessie) Newberry of Lake City, Mrs. Oscar (Helen) Bishop of Hermitage and Mrs. Frank (Neva) Chismar of Blooming Valley; four sons, the Rev. Dr. James G. Cousins of Mt. Hope, Richard W. Cousins of Meadville, the Rev. William A. Cousins of Cleveland and Joseph T. Cousins of Mesa, AZ; twenty grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Services were held with the Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Sharon.
