Jessie B. Smock

Jessie B. Smock, 100, a patient at Wesbury United Methodist Community for the past 10 years, died Tuesday, January 27, 1987, at Wesbury following a lengthy illness.

She was born in Custards, Greenwood Township, November 2, 1886, a daughter and only child of Jonathan and Lucretia Smock Smock.

Miss Smock graduated from Meadville Commercial College in 1907.  She graduated from Allegheny College in 1915 and began teaching position was in Ohio, where she taught mathematics and languages.  Following her father's death, she returned to Meadville to care for her ailing mother.  Her interests were in gardening, reading and church work.  She was a member of Stone Methodist Church and a member of the Home Decorators Guild.

She is survived by several cousins.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
