Jill Dianne Oakes

Jill Dianne Oakes, 47, of Meadville, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, August 28, 2013 surrounded by her family at her parent’s home in Cochranton following a six month battle with cancer.

She was born in Grove City, February 26, 1966 a daughter of James F. and Beverly Wright Patterson.

She was a 1984 graduate of Cochranton High School and received an Associate Degree in Business from Edinboro University.  She worked in the Meadville office of the PA Dept. of Welfare and previously had worked as a travel agent in Erie.  She was a member of Cochranton Community Church and enjoyed riding her Harley Davidson motorcycle, traveling, walking with friends at work on their lunch hour, working out and spending time with her grandson.

In addition to her parents Jim and Beverly Patterson of Cochranton, she is survived by her fiancé, Russell Custard of Meadville; two daughters, Alexa Oakes of Meadville and Lauryl Oakes of Guys Mills; a grandson, Aveon Jenkins; two sisters, Jamie Hovis and her husband Steve of Guys Mills and Jenni Tupy and her husband Dave of Midlothian, TX; two nephews, Matt Hovis and his wife Misty of Cambridge Springs and Kyle Hovis and his wife Stephanie of Cambridge Springs; three nieces, Jessica Francis and her husband Benji of Paia, HI, Victoria Tupy and Abby Tuppy both of Midlothian, TX; her maternal grandmother, Betty Wright of Meadville and several great nieces and great nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Friday, June 13, 2014 at 6:00 p.m. at the Cochranton Community Church, 3993 E. Church St., Cochranton with Pastor Kent Haines officiating.
