Joan M. Turner, 74, of Meadville, died Thursday, September 23, 2010 at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born in Corry August 27, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank L. and Dorothy Brisley Hillman.
Joan was a homemaker and had worked at the Meadville Tribune and in child care. She was of the Protestant faith, enjoyed reading the newspaper, going out for coffee and donuts and collecting hummingbird keepsakes.
Survivors include 2 sons, David Hillman and his wife Helen of Meadville and Randy Payne of Meadville; 2 daughters, Kimberly Hannold and her companion Jack of Meadville and Brenda Vogt and her husband John of Meadville; 2 brothers, Richard Hillman and his wife Nancy of Columbia, SC and Frank Hillman and his wife Linda of Honea Path, SC; 2 sisters, Betty Linquist of Corry and Annabelle Hardy of Bear Lake; 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 sons, Dennis and Thomas Payne; a brother, Robert Hillman; 4 sisters, Dorothy Boylan, Mary Turner, Frances Umstead and Rose Mix; and her long-time companion, Earl Davis.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dave Brumagin, Meadville Medical Center Chaplin, officiating.
Interment will be in Venango Cemetery.
