Joan Provasnik Kulasa, 61, of Conneaut Lake, died Saturday, October 5, 2002 at Meadville Medical Center.
She was born March 10, 1941 in McKeesport High School and subsequently graduated from Duquesne University in 1962 with a double major in biology and psychology. She worked for the State of Pennsylvania for 22 years including the McKeesport and Meadville offices of the department of Public Welfare, the Meadville office of Children and Youth Services, and the State Correctional Institution at Cambridge Springs. She previously was owner and operator of the Lemon Tree Restaurant in McKeesport. She was a very artistic and creative person.
She was a member of Our Lady Queen of the Americas Roman Catholic Church, Conneaut Lake.
Survivors include her mother, Tess Provasnik of Atlantic; a son, Erik Kulasa of Conneaut Lake; two sisters, Sandra Bazylak (Robert) of Atlantic and Carol Stoll of McKeesport; and nieces and nephews including Bob and Kristen Bazylak of Conneaut Lake. She was preceded in death by her father.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
