Jo Ann M. (Prussia) Castile

Jo Ann M. Prussia Castile, 64, of Meadville died Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at the Meadville Medical Center.

She was born at home in Hickernell, PA August 30, 1954 a daughter of Milton Prussia and Isabell Payne Burns Prussia Watson Sherman.

She graduated from Conneaut Valley High School in 1973 and worked at Conneaut Lake Park, the former Win-Tronics, Value City and her favorite job which was babysitting children in her home.  She loved country music, following her friends on Facebook and especially loved spending time with children.  She had one of the kindest souls.

She is survived by a son, Delmar Castile (Betty) of Franklin; several grandchildren, including two grandsons she raised, Joe Castile of Meadville and Jim Castile (McKenna) of Ft. Drum, NY; several great grandchildren; her long-time companion and caregiver, Malcotis “Mal” Smith of Meadville; two sisters, Bonnie Kuhn (Ken) of Meadville and Lucile Menist (Nick) of Estero, FL; a brother, Russell Prussia (Betty) of Saegertown and nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Prussia; a sister, Norma Hites; and her former husband Billy Castile.

Calling hours will be Friday, January 4th from 4-7 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.  The funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. with Rev. Daniel A. Kaufman, officiating.

Interment will be in East Spring Cemetery.
