Joanne L. Fox

Joanne L. Fox, 73, of Meadville, passed away November 21, 2019 at home.

She was born March 30, 1946 in Meadville, a daughter of the late Spencer and Elsie Hall Fox.

Joanne was a 1964 graduate of Meadville High School.  In 1968, she graduated from Mount Union College with a Bachelor’s degree in music education.  She went on to get her Master’s in music at the State University of New York, Fredonia in 1972.  Joanne also attended Liberty University, Lynchburg, VA to study counseling.

She was employed as a music teacher in Portville and Richburg, NY schools.  She was also an organist for various churches in Portville, NY.  Joanne was a former member of First Baptist Church and New Beginnings Church of God.  She was a former member of the American Guild of Organist and many other music related groups.  Joanne also spent time volunteering at Mercy House of Meadville.

She enjoyed working in her flower garden and playing music.  A woman of faith, Joanne always placed her trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  She loved sharing her faith with others.

Survivors include a brother, Nelson Fox (Bernice) of Waynesburg and their children, Randy Stitchick (Terry) and Angie Wilson (Elliott); four grandchildren and two great grandchildren; many cousins; and friends including, Jean Nisley, Elaine Sampson, Karen Peterson, Amy Mercier and Laura Schmalzried.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, December 3rd from 2-3 p.m. at New Beginnings Church of God, 13226 Leslie Road, Meadville.  The memorial service will follow at the church at 3 p.m. with Rev. Temple Jarrell, officiating.

Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
