Joanne R. Lewis

Joanne R. Lewis, 49, of Meadville, died Saturday, February 7, 1987, at her residence after an illness of one year.

She was born in Meadville, April 2, 1937, a daughter of Raymond and Katherine Grieb Lewis.

Miss Lewis was salutatorian of the Class of 1955 of Meadville Area High School.  She received her bachelor of arts degree from Geneseo State University.  She was a teacher for 29 years and had also been a private tutor.  She was a member of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church of Meadville.  She was past vice president of the American Assn. of University Women.

Survivors include her mother and a sister, June M. Lewis, both of Meadville.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Houghton Cemetery, Houghton, NY.
