John A. Foringer

John A. Foringer, 83, of Polk and a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Retirement Community, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at Meadville Medical Center.

He was born February 8, 1929 in Fairview, Butler County, a son of Elmer V. and Bertha Elizabeth Duespohl Foringer.  He had been married to Kathryn Dietz and subsequently married Mary Jo Blair November 17, 1980 and she preceded him in death June 17, 2001.

John was a 1947 graduate of Karns City High School.  He was employed at Witco Chemical Company, Petrolia, PA for 45 years, retiring in 1992.  He was a member of the Petrolia Volunteer Fire Dept. and enjoyed going to auctions and doing carpentry work.

He was of the Methodist faith.

Survivors include three sons, John A. Foringer and his wife Barbara of Clarks Mills, Terry Foringer and his wife Emma of Bruin, and Jeff Foringer and his wife Sonia of Karns City; a daughter, Lisa Jorinscay and her husband Bill of Kennerdell; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaretta (Maggie) Reese, Marion (Bonnie) Silvis, and Mary (Birdie) Gray.

Private family viewing will be followed by a public funeral service on Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, 581 Chestnut St., Meadville with the Rev. Dave Brumagin officiating.

Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Sandy Lake Twp., Mercer County.
