John A. "Jay" Schauer, Jr., 67 of Stoneboro, passed away on October 19, 2019, at Allegheny General Hospital. John was born in Pittsburgh on May 22, 1952 to the late John A. Schauer, Sr. and Margaret M. (Leslie) Schauer, he was a graduate of North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh and went on to work for Conrail and then Norfolk Southern as a Rail Repair Supervisor. John enjoyed collecting antiques and going to auctions. He enjoyed spending time on Stoneboro Lake in his boats. He was a Civil War enthusiast as well as a Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins fan. He enjoyed going out to eat, especially with his cousin Timmy, as well as spending time with his family. John was Catholic by faith. John is survived by his siblings, Bonnie Lynn Linder and husband Jack of Florida, David Schauer of Valentia, and Kathy McClearn of Butler, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. Funeral Arrangements have been entrusted to Black Funeral Homes, Stoneboro & Sandy Lake. There will be no public services as per John’s wishes.
