John B. Scrivner

March 15, 1899 — February 5, 1976

John B. Scrivner, 76, of Meadville, died at City Hospital Thursday, February 5, 1976, after a one-year illness.

Born in Richmond, KY, March 15, 1899, he was a son of Edward B. and Kate Prather Scrivner.  He married Julia Hills in 1917.  She died in 1962.  On June 18, 1965, he married Iola Cutshall Waterhouse.  He retired in 1963 as a tool and die maker at Talon Division of Textron.  A member of First Baptist Church, he was a deacon of the church.

In addition to his widow, survivors include three daughters, Mrs. James (Alice) Lalor of New York City, Mrs. William (Ruth) Spence of Grove City and Mrs. Robert (Mary) Evans of Butte, Mont.; a step-daughter, Mrs. David (Dianne) Murkens of Meadville; a stepson, Hugh H. Waterhouse of Kansas City, MO; eight grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister in 1970.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Blooming Valley Cemetery.
