John E. Braymer, 73, of Pine Street, Cochranton, died Saturday, February 2, 2002 at the Meadville Medical Center.
He was born in New Castle December 28, 1928 a son of Arthur and Margaret Benner Braymer. He had been married to Darlene Travers.
He was a life long independent truck driver and more recently worked at Drafto and US Bulk both of Cochranton. He was a graduate of East Brook High School and was a member and Deacon of Cochranton Presbyterian Church. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving with the US Air Force. He was also a member of the Christian Motorcycle Assn., Retreads Motorcycle Group, American Motorcycle Assn., Cochranton Vol. Fire Dept., Teamsters Local #710 and life member of Hayfield Central Hose. He also participated in the Bill Glass Prison Ministries visiting inmates in many area prisons. He was an avid motorcycle rider.
Survivors, include two daughters, Stephanie Kapanick and her husband John of Conneautville and Holly Black and her husband Edward of Cochranton; three sons, John Braymer, Jr. and his wife Kim of Sharon, James Braymer and his wife Linda of Sharon and Joseph Braymer and his wife Judy of Erie; a sister, Julia Thornburg and her husband Joseph of New Castle; 13 grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Chapin.
Calling hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut St., Meadville.
The funeral service will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Cochranton Presbyterian Church, 109 Smith St., Cochranton with the Rev. John Boal, Pastor, officiating.
Burial will be in Millbank Cemetery, Fredonia.
The family suggests memorials be made to the Christian Motorcycle Assn., c/o Donald Kockritz 2635 Fairmont Pkwy., Erie, PA 16510 or the Cochranton Presbyterian Church, 109 Smith St., Cochranton, PA 16314.
