John F Kelley

February 22, 1897 — December 29, 1973

John F. Kelley, 76, of Meadville, died at home Saturday, December 29, 1973, after a sudden illness.

He was born at Galeton, Potter County, February 22, 1897, a son of Lawrence R. and Elizabeth Judd Kelley.  He married Elva Glenn.  Mr. Kelley had been employed by Saegertown Pharmacy for the past two years.  He previously was employed by Jack's Pharmacy for four years and as a pharmacist at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, for 15 years.  He had a pharmaceutical degree and a master's degree in pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and a master's degree in pharmacy from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy and a master's degree in chemistry from the University of Buffalo.  He was a pharmacist for 56 years and was a member of the American Pharmaceutical Assn., Commonwealth Masonic Lodge of Erie, the Scottish Rite Bodies of Erie, Zem  Zem Temple of Erie, Crawford County Shrine Club and Stone United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Janet) Eberhart, Jr. of Minneapolis; a son, Joseph L. Kelley of Cambridge Springs; a sister, Mrs. Monica Cramer of Tallahassee, FL; two brothers, Kenneth C. Kelley of Sharpsville and Rayfield L. Kelley of West Middlesex and eight grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery.
