John H. Bruce

John H. Bruce, 68, of Meadville, died at Spencer Hospital Thursday, April 23, 1964.

He was born at McDonald August 6, 1895, a son of John H. and Elizabeth Smith Bruce.  He and the former Eunice Roberts were married April 24, 1924.

Mr. Bruce, an engineer with the Erie Railroad, retired in 1959 after 43 years of service.

He was a member of Park Congregational Church.  A veteran of World War I, he was a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers and of Meadville Grange.

He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Eves of Meadville; two sisters, Mrs. Curtis (Martha) Weaver of Beaverdale and Mrs. Margaret Roberts of Ebensburg; two brothers, James M. Bruce of Meadville and William Bruce of Portage; and two grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
