John Henry Kleist

John Henry Kleist, 77, of Meadville, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 21, 1945 in Meadville, a son of Raymond and Julia Henry Kleist.  He married Tane McIntyre October 15, 1966.

John was a 1963 graduate of Meadville High School.  A plumber for over 40 years, he was a member of Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 449.  John was a member of the former Meadville Club, Vernon Central Hose Company, and Tibetan Terrier Club of America.  He enjoyed traveling and showing dogs for almost 50 years and especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.

Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Tane, include three children, Stacey Folmar (Shawn) of Elizabeth, CO, Jill Monico (Steve) of Meadville, and Todd Kleist of Meadville; seven grandchildren, Joseph Monico, Nicholas Monico (fiancée Eilidh), Laura (Midge) Monico, Ryenne Folmar, Julia Folmar, Heath Kleist, and Aidan Kleist; and a sister, Rae Ann Loper of Meadville.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandchildren, Holly and William Folmar.

Services are private with interment in St. Brigid Cemetery.
