John Hoyt Gourley, 59 of New Lebanon Boro, Sandy Lake, passed away on August 2, 2021 at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie. John was born in Ochiltree County, Texas, on June 23, 1962 to the late Jack E. and Pauline M (Long) Gourley. He worked as an electrician for many years. John proudly served his Country in the United States Marine Corps. He married his wife, Bonnie Jean (Redick) Gourley on May 23, 2008, she survives at home. John loved riding his Yamaha Road King anywhere and everywhere he could. He would often ride for numerous hours with friends and family. He also enjoyed drawing and painting. John spent a lot of time working around the house and taking care of his yard, he enjoyed tinkering in the garage and going fishing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, John is survived by 2 sons, 2 daughters, step-children: Jane Bortz, Vincent Bortz and wife Leigha, Mandy Bortz and husband Ronny Russell, and Jeremy Haylett and wife Felicia, numerous grandchildren, and sister-in-law Carol Rhoads. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by 1 daughter, 1 step-daughter: Amy Haylett, and 5 grandchildren. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Rose and Black Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc. Stoneboro & Sandy Lake.
