John Hunt Reynolds, 86, of Meadville, associated with the I. E. Hall Photo Studio in Meadville many years ago, died Monday, April 8, 1963.
Mr. Reynolds was born in Hayfield Township June 7, 1876, a son of Philip and Hiretta Greenlee Reynolds. He married Vera Ringer Callan of Jamestown, NY, December 24, 1934. She died May 29, 1958.
He was a graduate of Littles Corners School and for a number of years was engaged in farming until moving to Erie County where he lived for several years. Upon returning to Meadville he went to work for the Hall studio and was employed there for 30 years until November 1934. He was adopted by the Halls in 1915. He also was employed by Talon, Inc. and for several years operated a citrus fruit farm in Florida with the Halls and later on his own.
He was a 50-year member of the Odd Fellows Lodge, having joined the old Crawford Lodge in 1901 and later Cussewago Lodge. He joined Olympas Encampment in 1903 and was a charter member of Meadville Canton 47. He had been attending Park Congregational Church for some time and had planned to join that church Easter Sunday.
Surviving are several grand-nieces and nephews in Council Bluff, Iowa, a grand nephew in Tucson, AZ and a grand niece in Meadville. Close friends, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Poland alos survive.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
