John J. Kapanick, 73, of Meadville, died Friday, March 31, 1989, at Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, Palm Beach Gardens, FL, following a sudden illness.
Mr. Kapanick was born in Rockaway, NJ, February 10, 1916, a son of John and Anna Hazuea Kapanick. He married Charlotte Carlberg August 21, 1942. She survives.
He was founder of Kapanick Construction Co. and also operated a dairy farm in Hayfield Township. He was a member of Little's Corners United Methodist Church and the church's administrative board. He was a member of Hayfield Central Volunteer Fire Department, Crawford County Farmers Assn. and Crawford County Holstein Assn.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Betty) Reichel of Geneva, OH; one son, John L. Kapanick of Conneautville; one sister, Helen Mahoney of Meadville; three granddaughters and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ann Sheakley and Mary Hodge.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
