Jack, 83 was born January 16, 1938 in Pittsburgh, a son of Stanley and Esther Yates Bergan.
Retiring from Norwin School District in 1991, he resided in Espyville. There the love story began “out of the blue” when Lynn Ulf, originally of Tidioute and an 8th grade student of his reconnected after 32 years. During their first reunion while at his Trunkeyville camp, he proposed on day 6, she said YES, and they were married 2 months later on January 1, 1999. It was truly Meant To Be. She survives.
Jack was a 1961 graduate of California State Teachers College with a B.S. in History and Social Studies and a graduate of Duquesne University with a Master’s in Counseling. He taught history and social studies and subsequently was a guidance counselor for 30 years. He worked at Tidioute High School, Norwalk Junior High and St. Paul’s High School, both of Norwalk, OH, and retired from Norwin Junior High East, Irwin, PA.
At a later age Jack obeyed God’s plan for reconciliation with Him, which Jesus spoke of in Luke 24:47, and was baptized for the forgiveness of his sins and received the gift of the Holy Spirit as promised in Acts 2:38. We plead with you to read and study Romans 6:1-10. He loved worshipping and learning with our family at Emmanuel Christian Church near Stoneboro, PA.
Jack was loving, fun-loving and greatly loved, gregarious, a wonderful provider, loyal, a man of integrity and one to be honored for all the lives he touched, best of all mine.
May 20, 2021, God’s angels escorted Jack’s spirit to Paradise.
