John L. Williams, 66, formerly of Meadville and East Mead Township, died Monday night at Illinois Masonic Hospital in Chicago after a brief illness.
He had resided in Chicago for the past several years and also had lived a few years at Niagara Falls, although most of his life was spent in East Mead Township where he was born.
For the past 15 years, he had been engaged in the lumber and construction business. His wife, Mrs. Emma Maloney Williams, died in Meadville 12 years ago.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ivan A. Virtue of Guys Mills and Mrs. Arthur Bly of Chicago; two sons, John J. Williams of Meadville and Elwood M. Williams of New York City; a sister, Mrs. Charles Shaw of Philadelphia; a brother, Herman A. Williams of Meadville and nine grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
