John Latsko

May 24, 1930 — March 22, 2019

John Latsko of Cochranton, PA passed away at the age of 88 on March 22, 2019 in peace surrounded by his loving family.

He was born on May 24, 1930 in East Pittsburgh, PA the son of John and Mary (Fabian) Latsko.  He was a Korean War veteran serving in the US Air Force.  He married his cherished love, Jane Hysong on September 16, 1954 and together they accomplished an amazing life.  He was an entrepreneur and owned and operated Lake Real Estate and Crawford Mercer Appraisal Service together with his wife Jane.

He and Jane had eight sons and three daughters.  He took great pride in his family and was a wonderful father, involved in all his children and grandchildren’s lives.   John enjoyed working on his small farm and long walks in nature.  He was wise and understood the value of the simple things in life.  He is survived by Jane, his wife of 64 years, and  his children Linda Seng (James) of South Carolina, Mary DeMarco (Dennis) of Conneaut Lake;  John Latsko (Maggie) of Indiana, PA;  Mark Latsko (Ann) of Meadville;  Paul Latsko of Meadville; Luke Latsko of Pittsburgh; Thomas Latsko (Debbie) of New Wilmington;  Timothy Latsko  of Virginia; James Latsko (Carey) of North Huntingdon; Jeffrey Latsko (Traci) of Erie;  and  Caroline Sherwin (Greg) of  Fairview as well as his twenty grandchildren- John Latsko, Brenna Leach (Dan), Meghan Geishauser (Ryan), Mandi Hubert (Jeremy), Benjamin Latsko, Thomas Latsko, Samantha Latsko, Jennifer Woods (Josh), Rachel Latsko, Grant Latsko (Cassie), Justin Latsko, Alexander Latsko (Michelle), Jordan Latsko (Mary), Elise Latsko,  Jacob Latsko (Alyxxandria), Blake DeMarco, Max Seng, Abigail Swank (Travis), Katie Sherwin, and Jack Sherwin; and seven great grandchildren Mathew Luzier, Kevin Luzier, Jeremy Hubert,  Annabelle Jane Swank,  Charlotte Latsko, Brady Latsko, and Melody Latsko as well as several nieces and nephews.  John will be greatly missed by all those he loved.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his six sisters, Agnes Baxter, Helen Sklet, Irene McGoff, Catherine Lefever, Betty Jane Latsko, and Eleanor Latsko.

The family wishes to thank all the wonderful staff at Saint Vincent Hospital for their compassionate care especially Dr. Datta and Dr. Chakraborty.

Calling hours will be Tuesday, March 26th from 3-6 p.m. at the Waid-Coleman Funeral Home, Inc., 12422 Conneaut Lake Road, Conneaut Lake with a Scripture Prayer Service at 5:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 27th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of the Americas Church, 155 S. Ninth Street, Conneaut Lake with Fr. David Carter, Celebrant.

Interment with military honors will be in Our Lady Queen of the Americas Cemetery.
