John Leonard MacLeod, 31, of Meadville, was found dead at his home Thursday evening, January 10, 1980.
City police said MacLeod was found dead after his landlady, who had tried to get in touch with him for two days, asked a maintenance man to use a key to gain entrance to MacLeod's apartment. Police said MacLeod was found seated on a couch, and there was no evidence of foul play. The death in under investigation by Crawford County Coroner Dr. Robert Challener.
MacLeod was born in Meadville, July 19, 1948, son of Cameron A. and the late Elsie Mabel Smock MacLeod. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Meadville public schools and Youngstown University.
Survivors in addition to his father of Meadville include a brother, Dudley A. MacLeod of Meadville.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Cochranton Cemetery.
