John M. Ross, 59, of Trenton, GA, formerly of Guys Mills, died at Trenton, Saturday, January 16, 1982, following a seven-month illness.
He was born at Greensburg, October 4, 1923, a son of Thomas and Bernice Lisbon Ross. He married Roxy Elliston in 1944.
He was last employed by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, where he worked for five years as a highway inspector. Prior to that, he was a plasterer for the City of Cleveland School District.
A member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Trenton, he was a US Army Air Corps veteran of World War II; a past master of Laurel Masonic Lodge, Cleveland; and a member of Scottish Rite Bodies of Trenton, Disabled American Veterans and Charles Stafford American Legion Post, Meadville.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Ronald (Karol) McGowan of Guys Mills; two sons, Thomas C. of Meadville and John H. of Trenton; two step-brothers, Thomas of Elkton, MD and Charles of Pittsburg, CA and three grandchildren.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
