John R. (Jack) Culver, 63, of Vernon Township, died Friday, September 7, 2001, at Meadville Medical Center after an extended illness. Born in Meadville, July 11, 1938, he was a son of Rodney J. and Lucile Heckman Culver and stepson of Ethel Kanppenberger. He married Carol L. Waters, February 3, 1962, at Watson Run United Church of Christ. He served with the US Air Force from 1956 to 1961. He retired from Tom Kirkpatrick Buick Pontiac, Meadville, in 1994 as parts manager after 10 years of service. He was a member of Watson Run United Church of Christ and Vernon Central Fire Hall. He enjoyed auctions, garage sales and refinishing antique furniture. Survivors, in addition to his wife of 39 years, include two sons, Brian K. Culver (Terri) of Seattle, WA and Kevin L. Culver (Kim) of Franklin; a daughter, Marcell (Marcy) Bortner (Chuck) of Conneautville; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters, Patricia Wilson (Bill) and Jean Hall (Jim), all of Meadville; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bryant Culver. Services were held at Waid Funeral Home. Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Services Past Services
