John G. (Jack) Reis

July 20, 1902 — April 24, 1976

John G. (Jack) Reis, 73, chief cost accountant at Talon, Inc., for many years, died Saturday at the United Methodist Nursing Hospital.  He had been ill for several months and a patient at the hospital for two weeks.

Following retirement from Talon, Mr. Reis worked as a self-employed certified public accountant.

Born in Pittsburgh, July 20, 1902, he was a son of George and Elizabeth Reis.  With his widow, the former Lola Wassilieff whom he married July 14, 1935.  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.

A graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and Wharton School of Finance, he was a member of Financial Executives Institute and National Assn. of Accountants.   He was a member of Pyramid Masonic Lodge 409 of New York City, Timothy Alden Council 60 of Meadville; Union Masonic Chapter of New York, Northwest Commandery of Meadville; Zem Zem Shrine Temple of Erie; Crawford County Shrine Club and Islam Grotto of Pittsburgh.

A member of the Meadville Area Chapter of American Assn. of Retired Persons, he also was a member of Taylor Hose Club, Meadville Country Club and Mountains Country Club of Lake Lure, NC.

In addition to his widow, survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas A. E. (Vera) Russinovich of Birmingham, AL; a son, Bruce Merrill Reis of Paris, France, and Chicago; three grandchildren.  A sister, Emma Reis, preceded him in death.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
