John S. Bean

John S. Beal, 78, of Meadville, died at Hamot Medical Center, Erie, Monday, January 15, 1973.  Mr. Bean, who had been in poor health for the past year, had been hospitalized four days.

Born at Cochranton on March 2, 1894, he was a son of James C. and Ella Work Bean.  He married Maude K. McCracken on October 25, 1913.  Mr. Bean retired in 1959 from Abex Corp. where he was employed as a security officer.  He operated a farm in Wayne Township for many years.  Mr. Bean was a member of First Presbyterian Church.  He was a former member and elder of Cochranton United Presbyterian Church.  He was a member of Meadville Grange.

Survivors include his widow; three sons, Gordon of Meadville, Dr, Carl Bean of Lebanon and Russell of Tonawanda, NY; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were held at Robert W. Waid Funeral Home.

Entombment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Mausoleum.
