John S. Sybrandt

John S. Sybrandt, 74, of Meadville, died Tuesday, March 3, 1987, at Wesbury United Methodist Community following a six-month illness.

He was born near Meadville in Crawford County on November 7, 1912, a son of William and Elsie Hopkins Sybrandt.  He married Eilzabeth McElhaney, September 11, 1937.  She survives.

Mr. Sybrandt had retired in 1982 from his work as director of plant operations at Meadville City Hospital, after more than 48 years of service.  He was a member of First Baptist Church, the MCR class of the church and was a former trustee of the church. He was also a member of American Hospital Assn. of Hospital Engineers.

Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Gary L. Sybrandt of Meadville; four sisters, Mrs. Leona Stoyer of Sharpsville, Mrs. Alice Boyd of Ironton, OH, Mrs. Marian Stainbrook of Arcadia, FL and Mrs. Elsie Rushnok of Waterford; a brother, James Sybrandt of Meadville and four grandchildren.

Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.

Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
