John Stepchuck, 54, of Meadville, was dead on arrival at City Hospital late Friday evening, February 9, 1973, after a sudden heart attack.
Born at Youngstown, November 11, 1918, he was a son of Paul and Tillie Tetichian Stepchuck. He married Kathryn Peters on April 27, 1940. Mr. Stepchuck was employed as a truck driver by Mushroom Transportation Co., Erie. He formerly was employed by Erie-Pittsburgh Motor Express which recently merged with Mushroom Transportation Co. Mr. Stepchuck was a member of the Russian Orthodox Church at Crossingville, Linesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post, Vernon Central Volunteer Fire Department and Teamsters Union 397 of Erie. He was a World War II veteran, serving with the Army in the European Theater.
Survivors include his widow; a daughter and two sons, Sharon, Richard H. and Darryl M., all at home; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bruscewski of Buffalo and Mrs. Pauline Morriessey of Erie; two half-sisters, Mrs. Maurice (Sophia) Heinz of Springboro and Mrs. Michael (Mary) Horvath of Hubbard, OH; one brother, Frank Stepchuck of West Springfield; two half-brothers, Michael Bortick of West Springfield and Peter Bortnick of Conneautville and a grandson, John Stepchuck.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Roselawn Memorial Gardens.
