John W. Clark

John W. Clark, 72 of Utica, passed away at Meadville Medical Center on January 31, 2018. John was born in Oil City on April 28, 1945 to the late Richard Paul and Faith Arlene Weaver Clark. John was a 1964 Graduate of Oil City High School and then attended Triangle Tech in Erie earning AST degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design. He worked as a truck driver in his earlier years for ConAir in Franklin, owned and operated Clark Contracting of Utica, and then worked for Iron City Sash and Door as a driver. He retired from ITV of Jackson Center in 2007. John proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. John was an avid hunter and fisherman, especially loving trips to Lake Ogascanan in Canada. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of Utica Volunteer Fire Department where he was an EMT and Fireman. John married his beloved wife, Nancy Sue Hefferman, in May of 2000, she survives at home. In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children Donna Overmoyer and husband Kevin of Franklin, Karen Burress of Franklin, and Heather Dana of Franklin, sister Lois Newton and husband Charles of Utica, brother Robert Clark of Oil City, and two granddaughters, Megan Clark and Kayla Grossman, as well as many nephews. In addition to his parents John was preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Dottie Clark. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Black Funeral Home, Stoneboro. There will be no public visitation as per John’s wishes. Memorials may be made in John's name to the Utica Volunteer Fire Department, 3860 Academy St, Utica, PA 16362, or the Shriners Hospital for Children, 1645 W. 8th Street, Erie, PA 16505.
