John W. Creasap, 66, was recognized as the leading Stores Department operator for seven consecutive years with the Erie-Lackwanna Railroad System.
Creasap, of Meadville, died Thursday, September 8, 1994, at Meadville Medical Center after a period of failing health.
He was born in Marion, OH, August 3, 1928, a son of the late Owen and Zoa Pollack Creasap. He married Barbara Ann Brinkman, June 12, 1948. She survives.
He retired January 31, 1990, as manager for Conrail at Meadville, ending 45 years of service in his career in the railroad industry. He started with the railroad in Marion with the Erie Railroad and then worked for the Erie-Lackawanna Railroad and then for Conrail.
He was a graduate of Marion public schools.
He was a member of Stone United Methodist Church and a long-time usher. He was also a member of Meadville Eagles Aerie 429, and a volunteer "Redcoat" at Meadville Medical Center.
Survivors, in addition to his wife, include a son, Mark A. Creasap of Spartansburg, SC; four daughters, Susan D. Creasap of Munice, IN, Sandra K. Bush of Canisteo, NY, Sharon L. Watt of Wexford and Shelley A. Hoyt of Fayetteville, NC; a sister, Joann Shirk of Merion; a brother, Owen D. Creasap of Merion; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Waid Funeral Home.
Interment was in Greendale Cemetery.
