John E. (Jack) Wilkinson, Jr., 88, of Meadville, passed away Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Wesbury United Methodist Community.
He was born November 2, 1932 in Homestead, a son of John E. and Lillie L. Staley Wilkinson, Sr. He married Shirley Miller September 16, 1950.
Jack retired as police chief for the Conneaut Lake police department where he served for many years. He previously worked at the Ohio Rubber Company, Conneautville and also drove school bus for special needs children for Hubbard Bus Company.
Jack was a member of Watson Run Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed playing Santa Claus over the years as well as gardening.
Survivors, in addition to his loving wife Shirley of 70 years, include a daughter, Karen Crowther (Robert) of Guys Mills; three sons, John E. (Jack) Wilkinson, III (Nancy) of Meadville, David Bret Wilkinson (Eileen) of Meadville, and Bart L. Wilkinson (Jessica) of Meadville; a sister, Joan Finn (Gene) of Broken Arrow, OK; ten grandchildren, Steven and Michael Crowther, Jennifer Porter, and Ryan, Nathan, Garrett, Christopher, Justin, Matthew and Joshua Wilkinson; twenty one great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Peggy Ann Wilkinson; a great-granddaughter, Remee; a brother, William Wilkinson; and a sister, Mary Lou Hovis.
Shirley passed away on August 20, 2022.
A memorial service for both Jack and Shirley will be Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Watson Run Presbyterian Church, 13594 Harmonsburg Rd., Meadville with the Rev. Sam Marchetta of Wesbury United Methodist Community, officiating.
