Jack V. Randall, 83 of Meadville, passed away on March 5, 2023 at Meadville Medical Center. Jack was born at home in Albion on October 15, 1939 to the late King and Alice (Swanson) Randall.
He was a graduate of Albion High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Edinboro College. Jack was an educator for many years at Townville Elementary then Maplewood Middle School. During his years as an educator, he was an assistant coach for the basketball, football, and volleyball teams. He went on to become the head volleyball coach, retiring from coaching in 1989 following the Maplewood boys’ volleyball team winning states. He enjoyed athletics and always attended his grandchildren’s events, taking many photographs. Jack also retired as a deputy from the PA Game Commission. He enjoyed the outdoors and photographing nature. Jack was a lifelong participant with Boy Scouts of America. Starting as a Cub Scout, working as Summer Camp staff, through volunteering as an adult as the District and Council Commissioner. In his spare time Jack enjoyed reading, studying history, appreciating music, and traveling with his wife. Jack was a member of the Church of the Redeemer Presbyterian Church and the Free and Accepted Masons. He also served many years as the President of the Keepville Cemetery Association in Albion.
Jack married his beloved wife of 60 years: Carol J. (Reiter) Randall on April 27, 1962, she survives at home. Jack is also survived by his daughters: Krista Randall-Bly and husband Mark Bly of Albion and Kelli Peters and husband Chris of Saegertown, grandchildren: Miranda Bly, Derek Bly, Samantha Keller and husband Zac, Alaina Budzbanowski, and Tessa Peters, great-grandchildren: Chase, Grayson, and Brooks Keller, and one more on the way.
In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers Tommy and Bob Randall.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc. 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville, where visitation will be from 3 pm – 6 pm on Thursday, March 9. A masonic service will take place at 6 pm. Graveside services will take place in Albion Cemetery on Friday, March 10 at 10 am. With the Rev. Byron Gurnee, Officiating.
