Jon B. Johnson, 62, of Linesville died Sunday, November 4, 2007 surrounded by his family at his daughter’s residence in Saegertown.

He was born in Meadville February 12, 1945 a son of Harold and Isabel Rankin Johnson.

Jon was a self employed independent contractor who serviced automobile agencies throughout Erie, Crawford and Mercer Counties for many years.  He worked on automotive electrical systems.  He repaired, replaced and installed door locks, power window motors and other automotive electrical systems for dealers.

Jon purchased cars for many dealers at auto auctions and was involved in the transport and shipment of the units.  He was a unique professional expert in his business relationships with the vendors he served.

Survivors, include: three children, Richard Johnson and his wife Jennifer of Saegertown, Jennifer Shorts and her husband Kevin of Saegertown and Jon Johnson of Blooming Valley; three brothers, Lance Johnson and his wife Diane of Meadville, Eric Johnson and his wife Connie of Erie and Ted Johnson and his wife Penny of Lutz, FL; six grandchildren, Ashley Shorts, Alexanne Shorts, Zackary Johnson, Emily Johnson, Charlie Johnson and Jillian Johnson, nieces, nephews and in past years he had made his home with the Giering family of Linesville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Ellie Jo.

Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Robert W. Waid Funeral Home, Inc., 581 Chestnut Street, Meadville.

The funeral service will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Park Avenue Ext., Meadville with Ted Johnson, Brother, officiating.

Burial will be in Linesville Cemetery.

The family suggests memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County, 448 Pine Street, Meadville, PA 16335 or a charity of the donor’s choice.
